A gay man is recovering after being viciously beaten in Logan Circle neighborhood after allegedly being attacked by four men who were chanting ‘Trump America’. The attack took place last week in Washington, D.C., police confirmed to this reporter.

Acting D.C. Police Lt. Brett Parson, who oversees the police LGBT Liaison Unit and who prepared the report, told JRL CHARTS in an email that he reached out to Mr. Kohler after seeing a Facebook posting by Kohler describing the incident.

Police state that “Robert Richard Brice Kohler” was walking his dog near the corner of 13th St. and Vermont Ave. NW in Logan Circle at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1.   The police report states that four white males between 20-30 years old, confronted the victim with one suspect saying “Hey Snowflake!” which was followed up with..”This is what a Trump America looks like, f****t!”.

The four men then allegedly started throwing things at the man and his dog. After throwing multiple objects toward the head of the man and his dog, the suspects allegedly ran away.

The story went viral in Washington, DC but for someone reason has not hit the mainstream cable networks at all. However local affiliate ABC7 News, called the man’s home the day after the attack and spoke with a friend who is assisting the victim. ABC7 learned that the man suffered a pretty severe concussion from the beating. After being treated and released, the man’s concussion reportedly flared up and was forced to return to the hospital for care.

ABC7 News Reporter Stephen Tschida, spoke with the man on camera during a Thursday report but he did not want his face or injuries made public. Tschida reports one of the suspects allegedly punched the man’s dog as well. The man says the attack left him “not okay.” He says he no longer feels comfortable walking in his neighborhood and the assailants “took his life” from him.” said Tschida.

The four male suspects are described as standing between 5’10” and 6’0″ each. Two of the suspects were wearing red “Make America Great Again” caps. D.C. police have confirmed that they are treating this case as a hate crime and will be conducted in that manner.

The police report prepared by acting Lt. Brett Parson lists the incident as “An aggravated assault, which is classified under D.C. law as a felony with a maximum penalty of a $10,000 fine and/or a prison term of up to 10 years.”

Police spokesperson Brown has stated that the hate crime investigation into the assault against Kohler is on going. Anyone who has information about the case should call police at 202-727-9099 or TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 450411.

Not only that, the city’s Crime Solvers program is offering up to a $1,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for the hate crime committed on Mr. Kohler in the District of Columbia.
