CHICAGO, IL — (08-17-22) — Police confirm that 3 men were killed and one was injured in a hit-and-run attack outside a Chicago Gay bar. The suspect remains at large, said police.  Donald Huey, 25, Jaylen Ausley, 23, and Devonta Vivetter, 27, have been identified as the three victims killed.

The “horrific act” took place outside Jeffery Pub located at 7041 S Jeffery Blvd around 5 a.m. last Sunday. The attack “appears to be intentional” but is not being investigated as a hate crime, said Chicago police during their news conference on Monday.


According to witnesses, the incident began as an argument inside the gay bar. It then escalated and spilled out into the street.

Brendan Deenihan, Chicago PD’s chief of detectives, is asking the public to come forward with information.

“You can’t charge a car with a crime, obviously,” said Deenihan. “We need to know who the driver was, and we know that people out there know that.”

The deceased victims were identified as Donald Huey, 25, Jaylen Ausley, 23, and Devonta Vivetter, 27, according to Brittany Hill, a spokesperson for the Cook County Bureau of Administration.  Police have not released the name of the surviving victim who is still hospitalized.
