Pennsylvania state Republican Lawmaker Daryl Metcalfe went ballistic towards his Democratic colleagues last week calling them “liberal losers,” in a tirade that has gone viral and has also raised eyebrows among his colleagues.

Known to be a anti-LGBT advocate and strong opponent of same-sex marriage, Metcalfe during his tirade, decided to personally attack Democratic Rep. Brian Sims, someone he has clashed with over the years in the state house.

On Saturday, Rep. Daryl Metcalfe took to Facebook to slam Rep. Brian Sims who became Pennsylvania’s first openly gay elected state legislator back in 2012, calling him a “lying homosexual”.  Daryl Metcalfe didn’t stop there as he went on to attack the Democratic representative in an interview he conducted with the Associated Press on Saturday following his Facebook posting. According to AP, Metcalfe mentioned Sims’ sexual orientation because he believes being a gay man is “immoral behavior.”

Rep. Sims didn’t take that lying down and struck back at Metcalfe on twitter with a tweet inspired by “Mean Girls”. In a lengthier Facebook post Saturday, Sims called Metcalfe “a homophobic, racist, sexist, transphobic, xenophobic bigot”. “Those of us in Pennsylvania have known this for a long time,” wrote Sims.. “All of those words have definitions. His behavior, his public statements, and his legislation over the years all clearly rise to the level of those definitions.” said Sims.

This isn’t the first time Metcalfe has shown his true colors as last December, he insulted another Democratic lawmaker with homophobic language during a hearing simply for tapping him on his arm.

“Look, I’m a heterosexual. I have a wife, I love my wife,” Metcalfe told Democratic state Rep. Matt Bradford. “I don’t like men, as you might. But stop touching me all the time.” said Metcalfe. The video speaks for itself!
