Adult Store Robbery Suspect Gets Away, But Not Before Clerk Hits Him With a Safe

An armed male suspect took off with an undisclosed amount of cash from an adult video store in New Orleans East early Tuesday morning, but not before a female employee struck the armed robber with the store’s safe as he struggled to leave the business, said police.

According to police, around 1:00 a.m. on Tues., the male suspect entered the 24/7 adult entertainment store located at 6420 Chef Menteur Highway, wearing a black hoodie and “covering his mouth,” said police. The suspect then went to the back of the store and demanded money from the safe. The cashier complied, putting money in a plastic bag for the robber, reported the NOPD.

Now here is where it gets interesting, police said that when the armed man tried to flee with the cash, he struggled to open the security door. The 56-year-old female cashier then took the opportunity to strike the suspect with the safe. Unfortunately the man ultimately was successful in escaping fromt he store with the case, said police.
