WASHINGTON D.C. — (03-22-20) — Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen Pence have both tested negative for COVID-19, according to a tweet by the vice president’s press secretary.
You’ll remember when we reported on a staffer on the Coronavirus Task Force tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday March 20.
The vice president told reporters on Sunday that neither the vice he nor his wife had direct contact with the staffer, but were tested as a cautionary measure.
“The staffer had not been to the White House since Monday, and had cold-like symptoms but was doing well.” said Pence during the Coronavirus Breifing on Saturday.
Pence’s press secretary, Katie Miller, posted a tweet confirming the news about the negative test results:

The news also comes a week after president Trump took a test himself following persistent questions from the media about why he hadn’t been screen for the coronavirus.
The White House announced following the media appeals that Trump had tested negative for the virus.
