Police have confirmed that they have arrested a suspect following a nearly three-month investigation into several burglaries at an adult store in Cortlandville.

The burglaries at Tikki’s Adult Boutique, located at 1136 Rte. 222 (Groton Avenue Plaza), took place between Nov. 19 and Dec. 30, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

On Jan. 4, the Cortland sheriff’s office black and white surveillance photos that appeared to show a suspect stealing items from the Tikki’s adult store.

A suspect was identified after the City of Cortland Police Department contacted the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office with information about a potential suspect involved in the burglaries” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The suspect, whose name is being withheld due to the person being a minor, was located and turned over to investigators from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.  After interviewing the juvenile, investigators were able to retrieve most of the merchandise stolen, according to Lt. Todd Caufield with the sheriff’s office.

The juvenile was turned over to a parent and referred to the Cortland County Probation Department.
