Ellen Degeneres has reacted to gospel singer Kim Burrell’s comments calling Gay people perverts by cancelling Burrell’s upcoming appearance on the show.

It was confirmed by insiders at “A Very Good Production” , “WAD Productions” and Telepictures Productions, that after the comments caught on tape by Kim Burrell,  she would not be allowed to appear on the ABC-TV hit daytime hit, the Ellen DeGeneres Show especially after the gospel singer refused to apologize after her sermon was captured on video and has gone viral since, in which Burrell referred to gays and lesbians as “perverted.”

Ellen DeGeneres responded on Twitter to Burrell’s comments by tweeting..”For those asking, Kim Burrell will not be appearing on my show.” said Ellen.

The recording was made of Burrell preaching at the Houston’s Love & Liberty Fellowship Church located at  6717 Stuebner Airline Rd in Houston.  In the video, Burrell is heard saying, “That perverted homosexual spirit is a spirit of delusion and confusion and has deceived many men and women, and it has caused a strain on the body of Christ.”  Burrell who was caught off guard with the amount of backlash she has received since her comments went viral, responded to the video in a Facebook live video.

“We’re not in a war against flesh and blood. I came on because I care about God’s creation and every person from the LGBT and anything else, any other kind of thing that is supporting gay… I never said LGBT last night. I said S-I-N and whatever else falls in the sin was preached.” said Burrell.

In fact, Burrell and multi-Grammy Award, American Music Award winning producer, songwriter and singer Pharrell Williams, were scheduled to perform a duet together on the soundtrack for “Hidden Figures”, Thursday on the Ellen show.

After the cancellation went public, Pharrell responded on Instagram and said “I condemn hate speech of any kind.”  While his comment is welcomed, he made no reference to Kim Burrell.
