WASHINGTON D.C. — (02-01-21) —  The Lincoln Project got hit last week when one co-founder John Weaver was accused by 21 men of sexual harassment.  Known as the moderate super pac of the Republican party, they made a name for themselves as the anti-Trump super pac but now, co-founder John Weaver is the center of attention.

The story broke when the New York Times reported that 21 men had told the political news media outlet that co-founder John Weaver had sent them unsolicited sexual messages over the years.  One man received suggestive messages from John Weaver when he was only 14.  He alleged that the messages became more aggressive once he reached the age of 18.

Weaver made a name for himself as the former campaign strategist for the late Republican presidential candidates Senator John McCain and, former Ohio governor John Kasich.

Naturally when the story broke on January 15th, Weaver came out publicly and apologized for “inappropriate” messages that may have made some men “uncomfortable,” but denied that the messages were anything other than communication between consensual adults at at no time did he believe the party he was communicating with felt uncomfortable.

Two men quoted in the New York Times article described the 61 year-old Weaver who is married to a woman and has two children, as a person with a lot of influential power in Washington D.C. that sent them unwanted aggressive texts and DMs urging them to send pics and details about their bodies.

Out of the 21 men accusing Weaver of inappropriate conduct, two of them said that they had goals to pursue a political  career and that Weaver knew this and dangled opportunities for them to achieve their goals in exchange for sexual favors.

According to The Lincoln Project’s co-founder Steve Schmidt, John Weaver has been on medical leave from The Lincoln Project since last summer and will not be returning to the organization.
