EAST LONGMEADOW, MASS — So far no word on the decision by the East Longmeadow Planning Board who heard testimony from the public back on Dec. 5 on a proposed adult novelty boutique being allowed to operate in the town.

The discussion included whether or not to allow the adult novelty store Adam and Eve should be allowed to open a new location in the neighborhood.

The major adult retail chain is looking to open their second location at 173-B Shaker Road, however there are a few on the East Longmeadow Planning Board is on board with idea of another adult store being allowed to open.

The planning board has proposed putting in place a bylaw to restrict where adult entertainment business would be allowed to operate.

Adam and Eve already operates an adult boutique located at 18 Main St., in Greenfield. In fact the franchise owner of the Adam & Eve adult store told local news affiliate 22News, that his store could benefit East Longmeadow local economy.

“I gave a letter of reference from the Chamber of Commerce in Franklin County to the planning board and it had no weight on them,” said Scott McGregor, owner of the Adam and Eve store told 22News. “Not to mention I don’t believe any of them have bothered to see what the store looks like.” said McGregor.

Adam & Eve is known to stock lingerie as well as adult toys which are kept in the back rooms. However members of the planning board is still considering a bylaw that would restrict where adult boutques could be based and allowed to operate.

McGregor further told 22News that his store is high end and not what you would expect when you think adult novelty. So far no decision has been made and the board says that they will continue this discussion at their next session.
