VATICAN CITY — Shock waves are going on throughout Vatican city as the Vatican police raided an alleged drug-fueled gay sex party at the apartment of an aide to one of Pope Francis’ top advisers.

According to news reports coming out of Vatican City, Pope Francis is “enraged” since the news went public that the home inhabited by Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio’s secretary, and which belongs to the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith which by the way is the division charged with handling clerical sex abuse.

This case comes at a bad time for the church as just last week, the Vatican was hit with stung by sex abuse allegations against high-ranking Cardinal George Pell.

Vatican police officers raided the apartment in late June after neighbors complained about multiple people visiting the apartment and acting strangely. Police allegedly found inside the residence at the time of the raid, men getting high and having gay sex.

They arrested the priest after taking him to a clinic to detox from the drugs he’d ingested followed by him being taken into custody on drugs charges, as gay sex isn’t illegal in Vatican City.

According to the Vatican’s spokesperson, the priest is now on a spiritual retreat in a convent in Italy.

Coccopalmerio had recommended his secretary for a promotion to bishop, but the prospects aren’t looking good following this incident and two previous alleged drug overdoses.

According to the Italian Paper, Pope Francis may force the cardinal into retirement.
