UNITED KINGDOM — (11-03-19) — Grammy Award-winner Dua Lipa is back to drop her sick new ‘Don’t Start Now’ Official Music Video. Dua Lipa releases her disco-tinged “Don’t Start Now” song that is already picking up major play in nightclubs in the USA and in Britain.

The singer who won Best New Artist at this year’s Grammy Awards and who is a strong supporter of LGBTQ rights, reunited with the same crew who wrote and produced her breakout hit single “New Rules,” which appeared on her self-titled, 2017 debut album.

On her newest song and music video which premiered with 11 million views on YouTube, Lipa sings about moving on from a suffocating relationship, directly addressing her ex-lover.

“If you don’t wanna see me dancing with somebody/If you wanna believe that anything could stop me,” she sings on the pre-chorus, “Don’t show up/Don’t come out/Don’t start caring about me now.” said Lipa. “I chose to put this song out first so I could close one chapter of my life and start another Into a new era with a new sound! It’s about moving on and not allowing anyone to get in the way of that. It also felt like a natural first song choice as I made it with the brilliant same crew I made ‘New Rules’ with.” said Lipa.

The music video premiered on November 1 and was teased by a trailer upon the release of the song. Directed by Nabil, the ‘Don’t Start Now’ video takes place in two different settings: a basement club and a masked ball. The singer is seen passing through both while dancing and singing, a classic theme from the 90s and early 2000s music video concepts.

Warner Bros. released the ‘Don’t Start Now’ Music Video on November 1, 2019.
