LAS VEGAS — (09-11-22) — Grammy Award-winner Ricky Martin is suing his nephew for $20 Million dollars after the 21 year-old accused him of sexual abuse. Martin was cleared of the allegations back in July after his nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, retracted his statement in court.

It had been reported earlier this year that the multi award-winning pop singer now 50, had been served with a temporary restraining order by his nephew, who alleged he’d been sexually abused during a seven-month relationship with the singer.

In the lawsuit of Enrique Martin Morales v Dennis Yadiel Sanchez Martin, Ricky Martin says that the ordeal has cost him $30 million (£25,850,550) in lost revenue in both concerts, endorsements and public appearances. He also accuses his nephew of extortion, malicious persecution, abuse of law, and damages.

The lawsuit also states that Dennis Yadiel Sanchez “besieged, harassed. persecuted, stalked and extorted” Martin and that if he hadn’t received money from Martin, Sanchez would have continued to “assassinate his reputation and integrity as an artist.”

The lawsuit also reveals that there had been two other restraining orders filed against Sánchez in an unrelated stalking case.

Sanchez is also said to have sent up to 10 “meaningless diatribes without any particular purpose.” messages a day to Ricky Martin between October 2021 to January 2022.

“Thank God these claims were proven to be false but I’m going to tell you the truth. It has been so painful. It has been devastating for me, for my family, for my friends. I don’t wish this upon anybody.” said Martin. He went on to say of his nephew…”I wish him the best and I wish he finds the help so he can start a new life filled with love and truth and joy and he doesn’t hurt anyone else.”
