LONDON, ENGLAND – Iconic Gay Music legend George Michael died at the age of 53 of heart failure died at his home in England on Sunday.

Throughout the mid 80s, George Michael was a member of the duo Wham! where they captured Internatinal fame as one of the hottest pop duos ever.  In fact in 1985, George Michael scored the Number one song of the year with “Careless Whisper” (1985).  His classic Wham! hits included “”Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go”, “”Careless Whisper”, ““Last Christmas” and ““The Edge of Heaven”.

Michaels’ recaptured fame in 1996 with his hit single “Fastlove”.

“It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period,” his publicist said in a statement. “The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage,” said the statement.
