X-MEN Dark Phoenix Trailer #1 Sophie Turner, Evan Peters

LAS VEGAS, NV — (09-27-18) — X-MEN Dark Phoenix has just released trailer #1 starring Sophie Turner, Evan Peters, Jennifer Lawrence and directed by Simon Kinberg.

The film is based on Marvel Comics’ X-Men characters and distributed by 20th Century Fox. This marks the twelfth installment in the X-Men Billion dollar film series. This also marks the beginning of a new trilogy.

Simon King not only directed the film but also has credit for screenplay writer. Marvel Entertainment announced the official cast in 2017. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp. Also starring Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain round out the main line up.

In Dark Phoenix, the X-Men must face the full power of the Phoenix after a mission to space goes wrong.

Marvel Entertainment’s new adaptation was confirmed as a follow-up to X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016. It was announced in June 2017 that Simon Kinberg had inked a deal to make his directorial debut with the film.

Filming took place through July 2017 in Montreal and completed in October 2017 with reshoots taking place in late 2018.

Synopsis:
“In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.”
