LAS VEGAS, NV – Based on a true story, actors James Franco and Zachary Quinto, star in the Gay themed American motion picture based on a true story,  “I am Michael” (2016). An all star cast in film written and directed by Justin Kelly and based on Benoit Denizet-Lewis’ New York Times Magazine article “My Ex-Gay Friend”,

Franco and crew shot the film the $2.5 million dollar budget film in New York City in only 2 1/2 weeks shooting from August 11 to August 30, 2014 which centers on “A gay activist who denounces homosexuality and becomes a Christian pastor.”

“I Am Michael” was released at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, and also screened in the Panorama section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival. It received its California premiere during the 17th FilmOut San Diego LGBT Film Festival. The film was the opening night film of the Frameline Film Festival on June 18, 2015 at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco.

Then in 2016, Brainstorm Media acquired distribution rights to the film, and has set for “I Am Michael” for a limited release and through video on demand on January 27, 2017.
