MEXICO CITY, MEXICO — Earlier today, the capital of Mexico was rocked by a massive 7.1-magnitude earthquake that shocked and frightened the people of Puebla.

The epicenter of the massive earthquake was only 75 miles from one of the most densely populated cities in the world, Mexico City.

As things calm down and rescue crews began rescuing the people and assessing the damage and casualty reports, the Governor of Morelos, Graco Ramírez, said that so far 42 casualties had been confirmed so far from his state alone.  At the time of this report, a total of 116 people have died from this horrific event.

This is the second mega quake to hit Mexico as 11 days ago, they were slammed with an 8.1 earthquake.

Check out several videos that were uploaded to Social Media during the quake as well as two of Mexico’s top news networks posted a couple of videos showing the reaction from their newsroom when the 7.1 quake hit.

UPDATED: 1100 P.M [PDT] – The death toll has now risen to over 200.

UPDATE: 09-20-17 1:42 A.M. [PDT] – President Enrique Peña Nieto said that 27 buildings collapsed in the capital city.
