Ray Donovan Actor Zander Hodgson Comes Out As Gay

Ray Donovan (Showtime) actor and heartthrob model Zander Hodgson, posted an “Important Message” on his YouTube channel on Monday April 17, where he came out as gay to his followers and the world.

The gorgeous young 27-year-old Zander Hodgson is known from his work on the hit Soap Opera show in the UK, Coronation Street and most recently, his eye grabbing performance in Showtime’s Ray Donovan Episode “Mister Lucky” (2017) where he portrayed the role of a BDSM Angel / Hustler. He also played the role of Barista in the Burnt Valley Productions film, Self Made (2014).

“It’s been something that I’ve wanted to share with everyone for a while now.” said Hodgson. “This is something I thought was important to do for my own growth, for myself, to be unashamed, to be able to connect to others, to connect to you more. I wanted to tell everyone that I’m gay. And although it doesn’t change anything for me and hopefully not for you, I just thought it is a really important thing to share with everyone, because it is.

Although I say sexuality is like a small part of someone, if you shut it off then you don’t allow yourself to be fully known. And if you shut off one thing of yourself, you shut off so many other things. I wanted to make this video because, when I think about all the kids out there that are being bullied, or are really struggling with their sexuality, or even teenagers and adults. I just wanted you to know that you’re not alone. There are people out there like you, and everything is going to be fine, there’s going to be a better tomorrow.“

According to Zander, he chose to conceal his sexuality until now because he was afraid his acting career would suffer. “Going into the acting industry as a gay man is not very welcoming. There aren’t many gay actors out there in my age range that I feel like I can relate to.” said Hodgson.
