South Korea LGBT PRIDE March Demands Equality & Civil Rights

SEOUL, KR — (06-01-19) — South Korea celebrated its LGBT PRIDE month parade with thousands out in full swing to demand equality and civil rights.

During Gay Pride Festival, activists demanded better equality in the country, especially after Taiwan last month, became the first Asian country to legalize same-sex marriage.

Homosexuality is not illegal in South Korea but the Seoul Western District Court dismissed a case to allow same-sex marriage in 2016.

The 2019 Gay Pride Festival didn’t go off without any protesters as several hundred anti-LGBT protesters planted themselves across the street from the Gay Pride Festival.

The people protesting, mostly from churches, staged a rally and chanted slogans such as “No same-sex marriage” and “Homosexuality is a sin” towards the attendees.
