SOUTH CAROLINA — (03-01-20) — Former Vice President Joe Biden won in  dominating fashion Saturday night at the South Carolina Democratic presidential primary.  Major media outlets announced his win around 7 p.m. with only minutes until polling stations closed.

South Carolina was a must-win for the former vice president. If Biden had lost the South Carolina presidential primary, keeping his campaign continuing on until Super Tuesday would have been in serious doubt.

United States Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont prevailed in the popular vote in the first three nominating contests of the Iowa and Nevada caucuses and the New Hampshire primary.

With 85 percent of the vote counted by 8:00 p.m. EST, Biden had 48 percent of the vote, Sanders 20 percent, billionaire businessman and philanthropist Tom Steyer 11 percent, Buttigieg 8 percent, and U.S. Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota 7 percent and 3 percent.

“Joe Biden Dominates South Carolina”, is a refreshing headline for his campaign!

Coming up next is Super Tuesday on March 4, where 14 states will vote in their democratic presidential primaries.
