Richard Grenell, the first openly Gay Republican to hold a top position in the Trump administration as the U.S. Ambassador to Germany, has already embarrassed himself and the U.S. by sending out a tweet that many German politicians found offensive.
Acting on President Trump’s worldwide derided decision to pull out of the Iran nuclear pact (JCPOA) and once again initiate massive sanctions on Iran, Ambassador Richard Grenell sent out a tweet that caught the eye of Germany’s government.
German politicians and business leaders took issue with Ambassador Richard Grenell’s tweet as a “threat”. In fact Andrea Nahles, the leader of Germany’s mainstream Social Democratic Party, said…“It’s not my task to teach people about the fine art of diplomacy, especially not the U.S. ambassador. But he does appear to need some tutoring,” said Nahles.
As @realDonaldTrump said, US sanctions will target critical sectors of Iran’s economy. German companies doing business in Iran should wind down operations immediately.

Defiant as always, Ambassador Richard Grenell double-downed on his tweet by saying it was reflective of President Trump’s policies and he represents Trump. However he has already created another controversy for the all ready fragile relationship the United States has with Germany especially under the Trump administration.
Its no secret that Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Trump are not friends and hardly see anything eye to eye especially on the foreign policies pertaining to Iran.
Known for his controversial insults he has made on women politicians via tweet, Democrats during his confirmation hearing were already concerned that Grenell — a former spokesman for George W. Bush’s ambassador to the United Nations, as well as 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, was a bad choice to nominate by president Trump for the U.S. ambassador to Germany position considering that Germany’s head of state is a woman.
The White House has refused comment on the incident and it doesn’t appear that any sort of apology is coming from Ambassador Richard Grenall to Germany any time soon.
