Yenni Admitted to Exchanging Explicit Texts with 17 Year-old Teen

KENNER, LA – What has turned into a scandal for one Republican politician who exchanged explicit sexual text messages to a 17 year-old teen boy said in a bizarre new interview that he is “Not Gay!”

Yes you read that correctly, the current president of Jefferson Parish, Mike Yenni, who happens to be married to a woman, was busted and forced to admit last month to exchanging “improper texts” with a boy who was 17 at the time, claiming that it was a “bad decision” and then having the nerve to go on and say with a straight face that he regretted his actions.  At the time of his sexting with the 17 year-old boy, Yenni was serving as mayor of Kenner, Louisiana.

“To simply say it, I’m not gay,” Yenni told local Fox8 News this week.  He also stood firm by his claim that he didn’t have any idea that he was sexting with a 17 year-old boy.  You would think the pics’ alone would show that!

This isn’t the first time Yenni has been reported to be conducting lewd behavior online.  Yenni did not deny that the stories about his past behavior was about him but would not say whether much of the specific content was true in the stories.

“There are a lot of elements of the story in the Tab that I truly believe are certainly fictional,” Yenni told Fox8 News.

In fact in the Fox8 News interview, Mike Yenni refused to confirm or deny any content of the Tab article by only admitting to the sexting with the teen boy, still holding firm that he didn’t want to rehash it “line by line.”   In other words, he didn’t want to incriminate himself any further than needed for his damage control interview.

However criminal charges are unlikely considering the fact that Louisiana’s age of consent is 17.  But and I do me a huge But considering the make up of Washington D.C., these days, Yenni could face a federal law prohibiting the use of a telecommunications device for “the transmission of any comment, request, suggestion, proposal, image, or other communication which is obscene or child pornography, knowing that the recipient of the communication is under 18 years of age.”

You will remember the last time Mike Yenni’s text messages had fallen under investigation when serving as chief administrative officer in the city Kenner, he allegedly used his city-funded BlackBerry to sexting multiple young men as well as woman on a regular basis.  No charges or disciplinary actions were ever taken.
