LOUISVILLE, KY — The firestorm created by Judge W. Mitchell Nance over refusing to hear Gay adoption cases has garnered the roar from two national legal organizations who have teamed up to file a complaint against the Kentucky family court judge over his discrimination of the LGBT community.
The American Civil Liberties Union and Lambda Legal along with the Fairness Campaign, the ACLU of Kentucky and University of Louisville Law professor, ‘Sam Marcosson‘ are seeking for the Judicial Conduct Commission to remove Judge W. Mitchell Nance from the bench.
Last month that Judge Nance who sits on the bench which covers the counties of Barren and Metcalfe, announced publicly that he would no longer hear adoption cases involving “homosexual parties.” Nance said “It is a matter of conscience I believe, that “under no circumstance” would “the best interest of the child be promoted” by adoption by a “practicing homosexual.” said Judge Nance.
