DALLAS, TX — We can confirm that Jeffrey Payne, former 2009 International Mister Leather (IML) Contest Winner and owner of the popular Gay Leather Bar, The Eagle, located at 5740 Maple Ave in Dallas, is running as a Democratic candidate for Governor which has only had Republican Governors has heads of state since 1995.

Payne, who is known as a winner, is looking to break the GOP hold on the state of Texas by challenging the state’s current Republican governor, Greg Abbott, who confirmed that he will be runningn for reelection last week.

Payne said Texans are tired of the Governor wasting time on “trivial legislation”.

“Last month, Mr Abbott called for a special 30-day session to work on a 19-item legislative agenda, including a “bathroom bill”, which would require students attending state-funded high schools to use the bathroom corresponding to their gender at birth. The special session began on Tuesday.” said Payne.

“Texas needs a Governor who believes in Real Texas Values, like integrity, honesty, freedom and independence,” Mr Payne said. “We need to stop wasting our time and money on trivial legislation and start investing in finding ways to help Texans, their families, and their businesses prosper.” said Payne.

Payne conducted an interview with CBS Dallas where Payne stated that he does not thnk Texas voters will think about his same-sex marriage or automatically dive into the BDSM fear tactic.

According to Payne’s campaign, he plans on lending his political campaign $2.5M of his own money to his gubernatorial campaign.
