SAN DIEGO, CA — The verdict is in for former Gay for pay adult porn star Mario Romo aka David Meza, who has been convicted by a federal jury earlier this week for the murder of the man described as his boyfriend whom he stabbed 24 times including a slash to his throat in 2013.

The convicted murderer began his career in Gay porn on the Sean Cody network in 2010 and performed in nearly 12 productions for various gay porn studios. He used various stage names during his gay porn career, Francisco and Elder Gonzalez.

Mario Romo aka Davi Mez was found guilty following Mexican authorities locating Jake Clyde Merendino body stabbed to death and dropped into a ravine in Baja.

At the time Mario Romo, then 23, and the victim Jake Clyde Merendino (pictured right), then 49 made their introductions through a chatroom back in June 2013. Shortly there after they started a romantic relationship.

The ironic thing in this case was that the former Gay for pay porn star was leading a double life a he had also a long-term romantic relationship with Taylor Marie Langston. She turned out to be a Chula Vista High School graduate who was pregnant with Romo’s child at the time of the Merendino’s murder. Prosecutors laid out their case showing how Mario Romo aka David Mez lived double life.

Prosecutors showed that Jake Clyde Merendino was killed two days after he closed escrow on a luxury oceanfront condominium at the exclusive Palacio del Mar in Rosarito. Prosecutors showed that Mario Romo was the beneficiary of the property.

According to prosecutors, within days of Merendino’s murder, Romo produced a handwritten will written on hotel stationery indicating that he was the sole heir to the estate of Jake Clyde Merendino.

Prosecutors also revealed that after Merendino’s murder, one of his close friends filed probate paperwork for a will Merendino drew up had drawn up in Galvenston, TX back in 1998.

Several days later, Romo had his lawyers contest the 1998 will and had the ordasidy to file the handwritten will created on letterhead from the Hercor Hotel in Chula Vista, where he had claimed was executed by the murder victim in December of 2014, leaving his entire estate.

Mario Romo aka David Mez was found guilty and convicted on one count of interstate domestic violence resulting in murder and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice. Under Federal law, he is facing life in prison. He is scheduled for a sentencing hearing in August 2017.
