WEST VALLEY CITY, UT – Man who allegedly smashes adult store windows was arrested on Monday Sept. 10.  The man allegedly was throwing rocks through the windows of a popular adult store. When the man attempted to flee from police, he was captured at the Jordan River.

Lt. Justin Wyckoff with the West Valley City Police Department confirmed to JRL CHARTS that the incident started as an investigation into a criminal mischief call. According to police, two individuals were working at the Blue Boutique located at 3361 S Redwood Rd when the incident occurred.

The employees of the Blue Boutique told police the suspect went into the store saying he was looking for a job.  He then began to vandalized the adult store.

“Some guy came in saying he wanted to get hired by us,” said Jayden West, an employee for Blue Boutique.  “We didn’t want to hire him because he was in socks and really dirty.  Then he started trying to steal stuff, and freaked out, and got into a physical fight with me and my manager.” said West.

The story received mainstream local news coverage as the Blue Boutique is a popular outlet in the West Valley area.

Once police arrived on scene, the man jumped into the Jordan River to try to avoid capture. “Once we got into the area he tried to run from us, and ended in the Jordan River,” said Lt. Justin Wyckoff.

Wyckoff further added that six officers went into the river to restrain and arrest the suspect. The man who has yet to be identified, was allegedly facing felony charges following the incident. Police did say that he was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
