LOS ANGELES, CA — CCBill, a global online payments-as-service platform leader, announced on Friday its continued support to help fight against HIV/AIDS by sponsoring the upcoming AIDS/LifeCycle 2017 bike ride, making a charitable donation to community peer, event rider and Cybersocket co-founder, Morgan Sommer.
“Morgan’s unwavering commitment to his seventh ride is a tribute to his passion and integrity, and we could not be prouder to support him in this very crucial effort,” said vice president of sales for CCBIll, Gary Jackson. “While there has been much progress in the fight against HIV/AIDS—in the current economic climate—keeping funds going to vital services is as important as ever.” said Jackson.
Now in its 16th year, AIDS/LifeCycle 2017 is a long-distance bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles and the world’s largest annual HIV/AIDs fundraiser. Taking place June 4-10, AIDS/LifeCycle is co-produced by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center, and designed to advance their shared interest to end the pandemic and human suffering caused by AIDS. These committed agencies provide the critical services and education needed to meet the growing needs of the community.
“I am honored and humbled by the ongoing support of CCBill as a company and many of the individuals who work there, who have also donated,” said Morgan Sommer. “Every year, 90 percent of the donations I can garner for AIDS LifeCycle come from friends and colleagues in our industry. The support of so many people keeps me motivated to train, ride, and fund-raise. There are many worthy causes in the world, this one just happens to be close to my heart, as I have lost many people over the years to AIDS, and have many friends who are living with HIV. It’s been 36 years since the AIDS epidemic started, and we now have many treatment options, but they are expensive, and most people still do not have access to these treatments. But more than anything, we are trying to find a cure. And these donations support efforts to treat people living with HIV, prevent new infections, and support research to find a cure.” said Morgan.
