Anti-Gay Republican Representative Used Campaign Funds for Personal Expenses

Anti-LGBT ‘Rep. Duncan Hunter’ (R-CA) and his wife Margaret Hunter, were indicted Tuesday for allegedly misusing over $250K in campaign donations for personal expenses.

According to the indictment handed down on Tuesday August 21, ‘Hunter allegedly falsified campaign records filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) in an attempt to conceal the purchases by claiming the expenses as ‘campaign travel’, ‘toy drives’, ‘teacher/parent and supporter events’, ‘dinner with volunteers/contributors’, ‘gift cards’ for charitable donations as well as ‘gift basket items. The DOJ further claims that Rep. Duncan Hunter said that his wife who was paid $116,000 by his campaign between 2010 and 2017, was given access to campaign funds as a consultant. It is alleged that she further dismissed campaign finance rules as “silly” when questioned by the campaign treasurer on her spending habits.

Needless to day Democrats are licking their chops at the possibility of turning the GOP seat into a Democratic one as Hunter is up for re-election in November.

‘Rep. Duncan Hunter’ takes on Democrat Ammar Campa-Najjar who worked in former president Obama’s Department of Labor, in November. Ammar Campa-Najjar has consistently out-fund raised the veteran congressmen.

Exit alarms are sounding within the Republican party as many have called upon ‘Rep. Duncan Hunter’ to resign over the indictment handed down on Tuesday. So far Hunter has refused to step down but things can change. We will continue to follow this story as develops unfold.
