ATLANTA, GA — (04-24-23) — After 17 years on the air at CNN, Don Lemon has confirmed that he has been fired from the cable news network. In fact Lemon’s situation is the second bombshell of the day as FOX News announced this morning the abrupt firing of their #1 opinion show anchor Tucker Carlson.
“I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN,” the “CNN This Morning” co-anchor tweeted. “I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly.”

The network confirmed in a statement that they had “parted ways” with Lemon. “Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years. We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors,” said CNN.
But in a follow-up statement, the network pushed back against Lemon’s account of events, saying he was “offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.”
