HORSE CAVE, KY — (09-11-22) — The Horse Cave Adult Bookstore located at 845 Flint Ridge Road has closed its doors permanently after three years of investigations and court cases in Kentucky, posted the Hart County Sheriff’s Department on Facebook.  According to the Hart County Sheriff’s Department, investigations into the Adult Bookstore allegedly started in 2019 following reports of alleged illegal activity going on at the business.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Department ‘s spokesperson told JRL CHARTS Pleasure Products News they had cited the adult bookstore with more than 30 permit-related violations and arrested several customers of the store on alleged lewd conduct charges over the last few years.

Authorities further stated that their investigations included an incident where two people died in the video arcade area of the adult bookstore commonly known as “the back room.”

Court documents obtained by multiple news outlets report that a couple of months after the deaths of the two men, undercover investigators went into the book store and paid an entry fee to access the video arcade area, where they allegedly saw illegal sexual activities taking place.

Investigators allege that sexual acts were being performed inside the video arcade area and illegal substances were allegedly being sold.

Following the Hart Fiscal Court authorizing the county attorney to initiate a civil suit against the store, the owners of the Horse Cave Adult Bookstore, David and Phillip Crumpton, agreed to close the business permanently during a court hearing on August 31, 2022.
