DENVER, CO — (09-16-21) — Openly Gay Governor of Colorado Jared Polis made more history on Wednesday marrying his long-time partner Marlon Reis. Jared Polis is the first openly gay governor of any state in the USA and now he has made history for a second time by marrying Marlon Reis.

“The greatest lesson we have learned over the past 18 months is that life as we know it can change in an instant. We are thankful for the opportunity to celebrate our life together as a married couple,” posted Gov. Polis on Twitter.

“After 18 years together, we couldn’t be happier to be married at last,”

A press release from the governor’s office states the newly married couple had a small traditional Jewish wedding. Polis is also the first Jewish governor of Colorado.

According to the Governor’s press office, the wedding was held outside and all guests provided a negative COVID-19 test before attending.

Gov. Polis and Reis have two children, aged 7 and 9.
