LAS VEGAS, NV — (08-19-21) — Subscription-based platform OnlyFans announced Thursday on its platform that the company intends to prohibit “pornography” from its platform beginning October 1, 2021.
Following in the footsteps of every other social media platform that made a name for itself thanks to adult content, they are stabbing the very industry that made them by banning them!
OnlyFans indicated in its statement that their decision is based on the company “complying with the requests of our banking partners and payout providers.”
According to a story posted on entertainment publication Variety, “OnlyFans will prohibit the posting of any content containing sexually explicit conduct. In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of the platform, and to continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines.”
Variety goes on to state that the OnlyFans social media platform will continue to allow nudity on the platform “as long as it is consistent with our Acceptable Use Policy,” adding, “We will be sharing more details in the coming days, and we will actively support and guide our creators through this change in content guidelines. OnlyFans remains committed to the highest level of safety and content moderation of any social platform. All creators are verified prior to being able to upload any content to OnlyFans, and all uploaded content is checked by automated systems and human moderators.”
