TEL AVIV — (06-27-21) — Israeli Police thwart two terrorist attacks aimed at the Tel Aviv Pride Parade on Friday.  The suspects were armed and prepared to battle but no one was injured during their arrests. Police also arrested non-violent disruptors on the scene.

Authorities also announced that it had thwarted multiple terrorist threats and attempts to disrupt the thousands of people who attended the celebrate on Friday.

The police said two of the people arrested were residents of the Palestinian Authority who had managed to get next to the parade and who were in Israel illegally. They were carrying a knife and were taken to a police station for questioning.

Plus a surprise appearance by the right wing anti-LGBT organization, The Hazon Movement, made a dramatic return after a year of inactivity by protesting the Tel Aviv PRIDE parade with a person paragliding with a parachute reading “Father + Mother = Family.”

Rabbi Dror Aryeh, one of the leaders in the movement, condemned the parade saying…”those who didn’t want us on the ground, will get us in the air. We will get to as many people as possible with our message; it is our right to protest legitimately and legally against these abomination parades.”

Aryeh continued his outrage by claiming many of the residents of the cities where parades celebrating the LGBT community take place are against them, but are “scared” of the LGBTQ+ community. “We are their voice,” said rabbi Aryeh.

Police also detained a resident of Tel Aviv who was found to be carrying a number of weapons, including a taser, nunchucks and steel chains. A total of 50 people were taken into custody by Tel Aviv police for attempting to cause harm or commit violence at the parade.

The Tel Aviv PRIDE Parade had over 100,000 people in attendance.
