WASHINGTON D.C. — (06-12-21) — Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, made history by being the first 2nd family of the USA to march in an LGBT PRIDE Parade on Saturday in Washington D.C.
The Vice President wore a blazer over a T-shirt with the supportive slogan “LOVE IS LOVE”. Emhoff’s T-Shirt said “Love first” in a rainbow of hues.
Harris posted on her Twitter account the following:
Five years ago, 49 LGBTQ+ people and allies were enjoying an evening out at Pulse Nightclub. And then, in an instant, they were gone. Today, we remember those who died and their loved ones—and we recommit to building a world free from gun violence.

“We have so much more to do,” Harris said at one point when she addressed the crowd, “but we celebrate all of the accomplishments,” citing marriage equality.
