WASHINGTON D.C. — (12-29-20) — Lawyers representing right wing conspiracy theorist Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) and Arizona’s 11 GOP electors, disclosed in a new Court Filing Tuesday that Vice President Mike Pence had rejected their request to join their crack pot lawsuit to subvert president-elect Joe Biden and vice president-elect Kamala Harris victories.

Rep. Gohmert and the electors filed a frivalous lawsuit against the vice president on Monday in an attempt to argue that the vice president has sole authority (which he does not), to determine which presidential electors Congress can count when it certifies the results of the 2020 election.

The bat shit crazy lawsuit that only a Banana Republic would condone, asks that the court grant the vice president the authority on Jan. 6 to overrule the results in the swing states of Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Nevada. If that wasn’t balls enough, they also want Penc to have the authority to have Congress count only pro-Trump electors instead of the ones President-elect Joe Biden won.

In their latest court filings made public Tuesday, plaintiffs admitted that they had reached out to Mike Pence before filing their lawsuit in an attempt to join forces. Pence rejected their offer.

Attorneys for Rep. Gohmert and the electors said in the filing…“In the teleconference, Plaintiffs’ counsel made a meaningful attempt to resolve the underlying legal issues by agreement, including advising the Vice President’s counsel that Plaintiffs intended to seek immediate injunctive relief in the event the parties did not agree. Those discussions were not successful in reaching an agreement and this lawsuit was filed.”

The vice president has not made any public statements indicating how he plans to handle the Jan. 6 joint session of Congress. Not only that but he has also not commented on president Donald Trump’s unrelenting pressure campaign urging lawmakers to reverse the Electoral College results.

It’s no wonder that The Lincoln Project created a Mike Pence political ad showing how the vice president won’t help Trump destroy democracy.

As of this report, Trump has not made any comments on this story.
