NEW YORK, NY — (12-14-20) — Leading Porn Network Pornhub have initiated a massive purge of more than 7 million unverified videos from its network. All of those favorite homemade videos Pornhub viewers had in their favorites have now been purged.
Pornhub features both professionally produced and “homemade” videos that individual users are able to upload for both fun and to generate revenue. However after the New York Times bombshell report, the network is cracking down.
In a statement released by Pornhub:
“As part of our policy to ban unverified uploaders, we have now also suspended all previously uploaded content that was not created by content partners or members of the Model Program,” according to Pornhub’s announcement. “This means every piece of Pornhub content is from verified uploaders, a requirement that platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat and Twitter have yet to institute.”
Pornhub further stated that videos will be removed pending verification and review and the verification process will begin in 2021.
Prior to this change, anyone could create an account on Pornhub and upload any video they wanted to. This was one of the major drivers of customers to the powerhouse network since its launch in 2007.
