NEW YORK, NY — (02-24-20) — Former Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein found guilty of criminal sexual act in the first degree and rape in the third degree.

The jury on Monday in the rape trial of Harvey Weinstein sent a note to Justice James A. Burke saying it has reached a verdict.

Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein Found Guilty:

COUNT 1: Predatory Seual Assault (Not Guilty)
COUNT 2: Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree (Guilty) [Up to 25 Years in Prison]
COUNT 3: Predatory Sexual Assault (Not Guilty)
COUNT 4: Rape in the First Degreee (Not Guilty)
COUNT 5: Rape in the Third Degree (Guilty) [Up to Four Years in Prison]

Mr. Weinstein, the once-powerful Hollywood producer whose film company made movies like “Pulp Fiction” and “Shakespeare in Love,” pleaded not guilty to charges of two counts of rape, one count of criminal sexual act and two counts of predatory sexual assault.

Six women testified at trial that he had sexually assaulted them, though Mr. Weinstein, 67, faces criminal charges in connection with only two of them. The others were allowed to testify to establish a pattern of behavior.

Ms. Mann and Ms. Haley both acknowledged that they continued to see Mr. Weinstein after the alleged assaults and later had consensual sex with him, testimony that complicated the prosecution’s case. The judge has ordered Harvey Weinstein taken into custody.
