LAS VEGAS – (11-14-19) – PayPal cancels payment processing for over 100,000 Pornhub performers without any warning.  This is sending shock waves through the adult entertainment industry as now they don’t know if they will receive payments that have already been processed and awaiting payment to be fulfilled.

PayPal Holdings Inc., announced on Thursday it had stopped all payment support to PornHub Network’s models after allegedly finding the adult entertainment website making certain payments without consent of the payment processor.

“Decisions like that made by PayPal and other major companies do nothing but harm efforts to end discrimination and stigma towards sex workers,” a Pornhub rep shared with Motherboard on Thursday. “While we still have several payment methods for our models available, we will continue to add more sex worker friendly ones and explore cryptocurrency options in the near future.”

Was it Politics? Misuse of Merchant Services that triggered PayPal to Cancel Payment Processing?

Pornhub has been the main source of income for over 100,000 performers of all genres and age groups. Now without any explanation, the payment processing company owned by Luxembourg-based corporation MindGeek, whom yes, who also own adult entertainment companies Men.com, Brazzers, Digital Playground, Reality Kings, Sean Cody and YouPornMen, are now blocking independent performers from earning a living utilizing Pornhub’s massive network of adult entertainment websites.

Pornhub said on their Message Board that the sudden cutoff of payments from more than 100,000 performers without any warning was not only shocking but cruel as this was their way to make an income from their video channels.

Pornhub Official Statement

“We are all devastated by PayPal’s decision to stop payouts to over a hundred thousand performers who rely on them for their livelihoods.

If you have PayPal as your payout option please select a new method and update your information in your Model Settings tab.

If you have a pending payment for October and were using PayPal, please contact us immediately (select support type payment issues) with your updated payment method and update your payment info in your model settings tab as well. Payments will start to be sent out the end of this week. We sincerely apologize if this causes any delays and we will have staff working around the clock to make sure all payouts are processed as fast as possible on the new payment methods.”

Paypal responded to Reuter’s request for comment with a vague statement

“Following a review, we have discovered that Pornhub has made certain business payments through PayPal without seeking our permission,” PayPal said in a statement sent to the tech site Motherboard. “We have taken action to stop these transactions from occurring.”

But wait a second, what about the payments that have already been processed and are awaiting for their settlements to come in? Are those going to be honored or returned to the customers cards?

So many questions have yet to be answered. We will be digging into this story and will bring you updates as we acquire them. For now Click Here for more Information on the Pornhub Situation.
