INDIANAPOLIS, IN — (07-10-19) — Last month we reported on Catholic School Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, defying the church to fire a recently married gay teacher and now, Cathedral High School has caved into pressure and fired their gay teacher.

While the school decided to side with Archbishop Charles Thompson of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis to fire the gay teacher, the school and an attorney representing the teacher have reached a settlement.  It it, the school agrees to help the teacher with future employment options.

Fired Catholic School Gay Teacher Reach Settlement with Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory

Attorney Kathleen DeLaney announced the settlement with Cathedral High School in a press release on July 10, 2019.

In the press release, the teacher thanks Cathedral High School for the opportunities and experiences that he had teaching there and does not wish the school any harm.

Cathedral thanks the teacher for the years of service, contributions, and achievements.

Neither side have said if there was a monetary settlement included in the settlement.

Indianapolis Archbishop Charles Thompson forced Cathedral to fire the teacher last month days after Brebeuf Jesuit High School defied a similar order.
