MUNA: Lesbian Alt-Rock Band Debut 'Number One Fan' MV

LOS ANGELES, CA — (06-09-19) — Lesbian alt-rock band MUNA, has released ‘Number One Fan’ MV, the highly anticipated new track from the upcoming album, Saves the World, this fall. Props’ must go out to MUNA and RCA Records for releasing the ‘Number one Fan’ MV during PRIDE Month.

Its been two years since the members of MUNA, Katie Gavin, Josette Maskin, and Naomi McPherson, made their debut with, ‘About U’. Now they’re back and gearing up to release their sophomore LP, Saves the World, on RCA Records.

“Number One Fan [is] a song about recognizing the negative voices in your head and learning to speak back to them,” wrote the band in a press release. “It’s a joyful and surprising experience to recognize that, just as we can all be our own biggest haters, we can also decide to be our own biggest fans.”

“In this culture, we are almost taught to look to other people to fill up some void in ourselves,” wrote Muna. “What happens when we accept that we are already whole? We become our own icons. RCA Records released ‘Number One Fan’ MV on June 6, 2019 and is already picking up heat worldwide on social media.
