DALLAS, TX — (05-20-19) — Once again a Transgender woman who was beaten by a mob in April and who made headlines nationwide, was found shot to death by police.

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings (D) mourned the murder of Muhlaysia Booker, 23, in a tweet Sunday, and called on anyone with any information on this brutal murder to contact police.

The 23 year-old Black T-girl model of Grooby Productions, Muhlaysia Booker,  became the latest fatal tragedy within the LGBTQ community. Dallas police confirmed that Muhlaysia Booker was the same woman who was brutally beaten by a mob last month in a hate crime was found shot to death over the weekend by Dallas police officers.

Transgender Woman Muhlaysia Booker Shot to Death in Dallas

Officers found Muhlaysia Booker lying face-down on a street in East Dallas early Saturday. During the press conference held by police on Sunday, they said they had no suspects or leads in what they called ‘homicidal violence,’ crime.

“It is the DPD policy that we actively pursue murder suspects,” said Assistant Chief Avery Moore during the press conference. “We as a department hold human life dearly and precious as should everybody but we recognize not everybody does. So speaking directly to them – I want you to know that the DPD has never tolerated murder and we never will so understand that we will actively, aggressively pursue you. We need the help of the community and that will be our directive,” said Moore.

Why on earth would they say they didn’t have enough information to determine whether Muhlaysia Booker’s murder was the result of a hate crime?
