RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — (05-17-19) — Richland County Sheriff’s department have announced the arrest of the armed robbery suspect who held up the Video Express adult store back on April 18.

Police have identified the suspect as Quintine Colby Hammonds. He was arrested earlier this week and charged with armed robbery and kidnapping. Hammonds was wanted for robbing the popular Video Express adult store located at 2717 Two Notch Road on April 18.

The Video Express employee told deputies that a man came into the store, shopped around for a bit, then tried to enter the closed off counter area.

When the clerk asked the man to leave, he told her he had a gun and that he wanted her to help him get the store’s money, deputies said. The man then forced her over to the register and made her open it. He also took a blue box with cash below the register, deputies said.

K-9s arrived to track the robber and led deputies to a trash can, where they found the robber’s clothing, said deputies. The homeowners said the clothes of the suspect were not theirs and allowed deputies to search their home in hopes of finding the suspect.

Quintine Colby Hammonds now faces armed robbery and kidnapping which are both felonies under South Carolina law and each offense, carries up to 30 years in prison.
