CLARKSVILLE, IN — (05-06-19) — Legendary adult superstore Theatair X, is being forced to close their doors on the order of the Clarksville Town Council.

The Clarksville Town Council voted Thursday May 2, to close Theatair X, located at 4505 U.S. 31.

Local Newspaper News and Tribune reported, “On Feb. 20, five people were arrested at the site after undercover Clarksville police reported seeing them engage in sex acts in one of the business’ main theater areas.

Four were later charged with public indecency and public nudity, both misdemeanors. Barr’s subsequent citations alleged that the business owner was at fault for knowingly allowing this type of activity to take place. The town sought to revoke the theater’s business license based on the new allegations, along with the suspension several months before.”

After years of violations and harassment by local authorities, attorneys for Theatair X made their case to the town council, saying the latest attempts to revoke the Theatair X business license should be dismissed however the town council disagreed.
