PARIS, FR — (02-17-19) — Queer French pop artist Bilal Hassani has scored a hit with his new music video ‘Roi’, as it nears 1 million views on YouTube within 24 hours of its upload.
Not only that but Bilal Hassani has captured the No. 17 spot on the the International Gay Music Chart for week 06 2019.
“Roi” (English: King) performed by Bilal Hassani and written by Hassani, Madame Monsieur and Medeline, was the official song representing France in Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Bilal Hassani released the official music video of ‘Roi’ on February 15, 2019.
Not only that but Hassani was the initial front runner to represent France at Eurovision. He began a media tour for Destination Eurovision on media outlets such as NRJ, Quotidien, and France Inter.
Then on January 12, 2019, Bilal Hassani won his semi-final by winning 58 out of 60 points awarded by the international jury, and winning 57 points (the highest score) from the French public.
Hassani totaled 115 points and qualified for the final, alongside Chimène Badi (66 points), Silvàn Areg (59 points) and Aysat (40 points).[24] He won the final on 26 January 2019, with a total of 200 points including 150 of the French public while he was ranked fifth with the international jury vote with 50 points.
