CockyBoys Director Jake Jaxson Host Porn With a Purpose, XBIZ LA

LOS ANGELES, CA — (01-11-19) — CockyBoys owner and director Jake Jaxson has confirmed that he hosting the ‘Porn With a Purpose’ discussion at the 2019 XBIZ LA show taking place in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday, Jan. 15.

Jake Jaxson, who is one of the Gay adult film industry’s most awarded and talked about directors, will lead a discussion entitled ‘Porn With a Purpose’ in which he will discuss his unique perspective on gay adult film-making and its unlimited potential to reach much larger audiences and affect cultural and societal change.

Porn is one of the most consumed forms of entertainment around the world and while it is becoming less taboo, sex workers continue to face obstacles, bullying and crackdowns on their ability to thrive. This session will reveal how porn “created with purpose” can help to counter negative stereotypes, social stigmas and oppression.

“I was both excited and nervous when XBIZ asked me to give this talk and open discussion,” said Jake Jaxson. “Mainly because this is not the typical session held at these events. Over the years, I have come to work with so many inspiring innovators and creative people in this business, who all have the same goals: to create and build an industry that appeals to one’s better nature & desires and that seeks to be both inspirational and aspirational. However, we all come up, against the practical realities of running a business, the evolving/changing marketplace and embedded thinking and cynicism — I can’t tell you how many times I have been told — “Relax, it’s just Porn! We are not curing cancer.” said Jaxson.

Jaxson further added…”While that is true, our work touches the everyday reality for most people — of knowing and understanding their sexual self. More than ever, what we do as pornographers has purpose. If we don’t take control of how we present our work, we will find our industry and our businesses the continued scapegoat of society’s ills as opposed to being on the forefront of a new sexual awakening that celebrates Sex as a joy of life; sex based on openness, mutual respect and knowledge. If we are going to change perceptions about our work, we must be the ones to lead that charge.” concluded Jaxson.
