‘Zia Gianna Bakery and Caffe’ captures huge support following a Yelp review. The anti-LGBT yelp review posted called Zia Gianna Bakery and Caffe “absolutely disgusting and unacceptable”.  Once posted, other customers immediately voiced their support for the LGBT-Friendly cafe in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

Owned by Nino Barbalace, the anti-LGBT Yelp review of Zia Gianna Bakery and Caffe has since been removed but Barbalace screen captured the post and uploaded it to the restaurant’s Facebook page.

The anti-LGBT comment says in part:

“After seeing the rainbow flag in the window, I’ve had it with this place and have thrown in the towel… In case you are wondering, only the owner himself happens to be Sicilian or Italian and none of his staff is even Italian or Sicilian… Nor are the customers, and one would wonder why… Well, that flag says all and when you delve deeper to see the real customer base here, it’s clearly geared and catered ONLY to those who rally behind the rainbow flag.”

Barbalace, a Sicilian immigrant who became a U.S. citizen in August this year, decided to display the 5-by-3-inch Gay Pride flag back in June during Gay Pride Week.

Of course Barbalace was taken by surprise when he read the anti-LGBT Yelp review and decided to respond.  He wrote on the cafe’s Facebook page.:

“All are welcome at Zia Gianna, even this gentleman. We’d love to show him some kindness from the LGBTQ community because love always wins.” wrote Barbalace.

Hundreds of customers took to Facebook and Twitter to share their support for Barbalace and his Zia Gianna Bakery and Caffe:
