BlacKkKlansman, is the upcoming comedy-drama written and directed by Spike Lee that brings the story of a Black American cop and a Jewish American cop who go undercover to infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).

Based the book Black Klansman by Ron Stallworth, BlacKkKlansman (2018) stars John David Washington, Adam Driver, Laura Harrier, Topher Grace, Jasper Pääkkönen, Corey Hawkins, Paul Walter Hauser, and Harry Belafonte. The comedy-drama is set to compete for the Palme d’Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival where it will premiere on May 14. Legendary Pictures, Blumhouse Productions, Monkeypaw Productions in assocation with QC Entertainment and distributor Focus Features, is scheduled to release BlacKkKlansman in the United States on August 10, 2018.

“Synopsis: Ron Stallworth, an African-American police officer from Colorado, successfully managed to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan and became the head of the local chapter.”

According to Legendary Pictures, the BlacKkKlansman project was revealed in September 2017, with Spike Lee and Jordan Peele teaming to produce while Spike Lee took on the director’s chair. John David Washington was also negotiating to star. In October 2017, Adam Driver, Laura Harrier, Topher Grace, and Corey Hawkins had confirmed they had joined the cast. In November 2017, Paul Walter Hauser, Jasper Paakkonen, and Ryan Eggold joined the cast. Then in December 2017, Ashlie Atkinson joined the cast to role out the full lineup.
