Breaking News Headlines – An Erie man identified as Anthony Giddens was arraigned on charges of robbery, terroristic threats and several other charges after detectives accused the 29 year-old of robbing the Adultmart store located at 1313 State St., on Tuesday Jan. 30.

Police responded to the adult store business at 10:35 a.m. after being dispatched to investigate a reported alarm activation. When police units arrived on scene, they quickly took Anthony Giddens into custody before he had a chance to flee from the crime scene.

Anthony Giddens was arraigned on charges of robbery, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and terroristic threats. He is currently being held in the Erie County Prison on $200,000 bail.

According to police, Giddens entered the adult store and handed a note to an employee which stated that the suspect had a gun and that he would use it on the employee unless he gave up the cash from the register, said police.

Police said Giddens never had a gun to pull out on the employee and simply pretended that he did have one. Once police arrived on scene Giddens surrendered without incident.
