LOS ANGELES — Ellen DeGeneres has once again come to the aid of people who truly need help as it was announced that she is showing her support for Dreamers – young undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as minors and who could be deported if president Donald Trump and his Justice Department continue carrying out their threat. Posted Ellen DeGeneres in a Thanksgiving week social media post.

DeGeneres posted a photo of her wearing a T-shirt bearing the words “We Are All Dreamers” in the Twitter and Instagram post. The caption read…“You may say I’m a dreamer. But I’m not the only one. #DreamAct.”

You may say I’m a dreamer. But I’m not the only one. #DreamAct

You will remember when former president Obama created DACA through an executive action five years ago after Congress refused to pass an earlier version of the Dream Act. The Dream originally being an acronym for Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors.

However Trump’s attorney general, Jeff Sessions, announced back in September that DACA would end in six months unless Congress passes the Dream Act or other legislation to save it. The LGBT groups and other human rights groups immediately denounced the Trump administration’s plan to end DACA.

Following DeGeneres and several other celebrities including Cara Delevigne and Olivia Wilde, also posted their voices in support of the Dream Act on their social media platforms for Thanksgiving. Everyone wants to see Congress pass a “clean” Dream Act without all of the unnecessary amendments that seem to have to go with every single piece of legislation. But that’s not all, you still have some Republicans who want to add new immigration restrictions to the bill. One does wonder will the Immigration narrative ever end?
