MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL — Once again armed robberies have been reported at two adult video stores in northeast Miami-Dade, according to authorities last Thursday.

The first armed robbery was reported back Oct. 17 at Adult Video World located at 770 NE 167th St. Police told JRL that a male suspect entered the store and pulled out a handgun on the clerk and demanded cash from the register.

The 23-year-old clerk paused momentarily due to shock and fear.  That’s when the gunman fired one shot into the floor while continuing to shout to the clerk to hand over the money from the register.  The clerk gave the robber around $300, said police.  The gunman left in a getaway vehicle and thankfully, the clerk was not injured.

The second armed robbery took place at the same store on Oct. 25 at the 167 Street Adult Book & Video Store located at 14 NE 167th Street.  Police said that in this robbery, the gunman browsed around the store for a a while pretending to be a customer.

Police said the suspect approached the counter with a magazine in his hand, but then pointed a gun at the 24-year-old clerk as she went to ring up the transaction.  Police said the suspect gave the clerk a plastic bag and instructed the clerk to place the cash in the bag The clerk complied with the robber’s demands and handed him back the bag with about $200, said police. Surveillance video showed the man leaving in an older-model, four-door sedan, possibly a Chevrolet, according to police.

Police are not saying at this time whether or not the crimes are related however they are asking for anyone with information about either robbery to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
