WASHINGTON, D.C — President Donald J. Trump once joked that vice president Mike Pence whom you will remember received major backlash for attempting to put into law, LGBT discrimination legislation, “wants to hang” all gay people, according to The New Yorker.

The mainstream media outlets immediately began tweeting, and reporting on air this comment made by president Trump.

The New Yorker also reported that Trump has mocked Pence in the past for his views opposing abortion and LGBTQ rights.

President Trump took a jab at vice president Pence after a legal scholar told the two heads of state that if the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, many states would probably legalize abortion.

“You see?” Trump reportedly said to Pence at the event. “You’ve wasted all this time and energy on it, and it’s not going to end abortion anyway.”

Then when the discussion moved over to LGBT rights, president Trump reportedly pointed to Pence, joking, “Don’t ask that guy — he wants to hang them all!”

Now if that wasn’t bad enough, one Trump campaign staffer also told The New Yorker that Trump used to ask attendees leaving meetings with Pence, “Did Mike make you pray?”

Pence has had a poor relationship with the LGBTQ community throughout his political career, including his support of an amendment in 2006 that would have defined marriage as being between a man and a woman.

Pence also had the nerve to say that when the US Supreme Court legalizing same-sex marriage, it would cause a “societal collapse.” said Pence.

Since moving to Washington DC, Pence has become a target of LGBTQ protests which even included a “queer dance party” outside his former Washington residence in Back in January.

Trump after promising to protect the LGBTQ community, has had his own problems especially after issuing a presidential memo instructing the Defense Department to stop accepting transgender people who want to enlist in the military. That drew major blow back from service members across all branches of the armed services.
